Toddler Communication Research Project

Is your child between 6 and 18 months?

Would you like to know how your child’s communication is developing? If so, then take part in this unique project.
The Toddler Communication Research Project is a joint project between NHS Lanarkshire Speech & Language Therapy Department and Glasgow Caledonian University.

We are interested in the way your child communicates with you.

Taking part in the project means we will ask you to fill in a checklist every 3 months until your child is 2 years old.

If the checklist shows us your child is not doing something we think he should be doing we will tell you and ask if you would like us to assess your child in more detail.

Benefits to you & your child:

  • Your child’s communication will be monitored at an important stage of their development
  • Advice & ideas to encourage communication development
  • Any problems will be identified and treated earlier than normal
