The Department of Public Health provides a service for the whole of NHS Lanarkshire. The Department assesses the health status and health care needs of the people of Lanarkshire and contributes to improving health in the following three related areas:
- health protection,
- health improvement,
- and health service development.
It also works closely with clinical and non-clinical departments across NHS Lanarkshire, other parts of the NHS, North and South Lanarkshire Councils, voluntary sector organisations and other health partners.
