In the future it is intended that access to the podiatry service will be available to patients based on their podiatric and medical needs. If self-referring, it is important to make sure all the relevant medical information is detailed on the form
At the first visit the patient will be assessed as high risk, medium risk, or low risk, categorised and if certain podiatry requirements are met will be given treatment.
In the future patients who do not meet the criteria will be invited to a foot health education talk where advice will be given on self care and foot health information.
Patients who do meet the criteria will be seen in the community clinics or in the hospital clinic depending on their individual needs.
