Healthy Heart Advice at your Local Pharmacy

You can now get help and advice on leading a healthier life from your local community pharmacist.

Pharmacists can provide individual advice, specially tailored to your needs as well as ongoing support and encouragement. They also have a range of leaflets giving simple, practical advice on making healthy lifestyle choices as well as information about how to access local services.

Your pharmacist can help you to stop smoking, cut down on alcohol, improve your diet and take more exercise and will carry out a one-month and three-month follow-up to see how you’re doing and find out any additional help you might need.

This project aims to make it easy for people to get healthy lifestyle advice as pharmacists are based in the community and tend to see patients more regularly than even their GP so are ideally placed to support and advise people on improving their health.
