Aim
Raise awareness of the many factors which contribute to falls in older people and identify measures which can be taken to modify risk.
Learning Outcomes
- Demonstrate an understanding of the social and financial cost of falls in the elderly.
- Discuss fall risk factors and the falls risk assessment tool.
- Demonstrate an increased knowledge of osteoporosis.
- Discuss the role of the multidisciplinary team and the practical aspects of falls management.
- Demonstrate an increased confidence in dealing with clients who fall.
