Research and Development

Research and Development is a core factor in the processes of the Lanarkshire Diabetes Managed Clinical Network (MCN).

The Research and Development Group meets every four months to discuss current and proposed research projects active with the diabetes services in Lanarkshire.

Through working closely with the Scottish Diabetes Research Network, we have secured funding for one and a half (whole time equivalent) Diabetes Research Nurses in Lanarkshire.

The nurses are currently based at Monklands Hospital but will have a presence on all three hospital sites.

All diabetes research is supported locally by the Lanarkshire Research and Development department.

If you would like to know more about any of the diabetic clinical trials taking place in NHS Lanarkshire or join Research Register, please contact Berni Welsh or Jill Kelly (Research Nurses) at: Berni.Welsh@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk or Jill.Kelly2@lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk
