CHE Project

The project aims to inform and educate women about the benefits of attending breast and cervical screening appointments. There are currently 2 Community Health Educators (CHEs), one targeting the South Asian population and one targeting women in the regeneration areas in Airdrie and Bellshill.

The CHEs attend conferences, public events, community groups and community centres to talk to women about screening, and are also available to support individual women and groups by being present at screening appointments.

The Project has conducted research into why women choose to attend or default and will be publishing the results towards the end of 2007.
