Volunteer Chaplaincy Escort 

 

Role Description

Volunteers are asked to assist Chaplaincy staff with escorting patients to the worship services in the hospital. Volunteers are expected to:

  • Discuss with ward staff which patients are appropriate for attending worship services
  • Escort patients to the service and escort them back to the wards
  • Have general conversation with patients
  • Assist in the Chaplaincy activities

Volunteers are not expected to transfer patients between bed / chair and wheelchairs.  This is a role for the nursing staff.
