Are you interested in having a say on local health and social care services and how they could be improved? Then your local forum is a great way to get involved.

The forums meet regularly to discuss local health and social care issues. Meetings include presentations and talks from local health and social care staff. Some forum members also arrange and are involved in local health and social care events for the public.

In Lanarkshire there are two main forums:

• • North Lanarkshire Public Partnership Forum

    North Public Partnership Forum exists to represent the views of the public on health and social care matters both within North Lanarkshire and, where appropriate, at a national level.

    The membership of the Forum covers the Northern Corridor, Kilsyth and Villages, Cumbernauld and Wishaw, Murdostoun & Fortissat Community and a wide range of related organisations from the Health and Social care sectors.

• • South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Forum

    South Lanarkshire Health & Social Care Forum exists to represent the views of the public on health and social care matters both within South Lanarkshire and, where appropriate, at a national level.

    The membership of the Forum covers Cambuslang/ Rutherglen, Clydesdale, East Kilbride and Hamilton Fora, and a wide range of related organisations from the Health and Social care sectors.

The forums are made up of members of the public, carers, local community groups and voluntary organisations. You do not need to be a member of an existing group to join.

• Informing local people about the range and location of services and information for which the health and social care partnerships are responsible
• Involving local users of service, carers and the public in discussion about how to improve local services
• Support wider public involvement in planning and decision-making about services that are delivered locally.
