If you think that fraud has occurred, or is about to occur you can raise your concerns directly with NHS Counter Fraud Services (CFS) via the telephone hotline or (anonymously, if desired) via the CFS website:
NHS Lanarkshire has initiatives that actively seek to identify fraud or assist staff to identify fraud. These initiatives include:
- An ongoing programme of fraud awareness sessions
- A programme of proactive work by CFS designed to promote awareness of fraud and to actively search for fraud in identified high risk areas.
- Participation in the National Fraud Initiative (NFI), a biennial data matching exercise comparing data (such as payroll information) from across the public sector with a view to identifying potential fraud.
