Marilyn Neil is a secretary for South Lanarkshire Psychotherapy Service.
She said: "When I first started working for the Health Board in 1976, I worked in Medical Records, Hartwood Hospital.
We had patients who frequently came in to visit us.
One day Ownie came in and I remember thinking they must mean Owen, so I asked my colleagues why they called him Ownie.
Well said my colleague, notice what he asks when he comes into the office and you’ll understand.
True to form, Ownie came in the next day and said 'ownie money, ownie cigarettes, ownie paper, ownie stamps.…?'
The thought of this always makes me smile."
