NHS Lanarkshire 60th Anniversary Celebrations

NHS Lanarkshire Stonehouse Nurses

The NHS will celebrate its 60th Anniversary on July 5, 2008 and in these pages we bring all the details on how NHS Lanarkshire is marking the Diamond Anniversary.

NHS Lanarkshire will be running events from the middle of June to early October to mark the big occasion.

These will include:

  • A successful Family Fun Day which was held at Strathclyde Country Park on 22 June.
  • A special 60th Anniversary of the Pulse Staff Magazine
  • An Afternoon Tea for Retired Staff on 30 July
  • An Evening Reception for Lanarkshire’s Volunteers in October

These pages will be updated regularly with features, photographs and stories from NHS Lanarkshire staff and patients to celebrate the huge impact the health service has had on all our lives.

But we also want to hear from you! We would love to hear from anyone who has an interesting story, picture or opinion on the history of the NHS in Lanarkshire in the last 60 years.

For additional information visit the NHS Scotland 60th anniversary website which includes a historic timeline of key milestones, a number of feature articles and the personal experience and recollection of patients and staff across the last six decades.
